PROFESSIONAL HIGHLAND BAGPIPER

 Steve has been playing the bagpipes since the age of twelve, receiving his early education at the Scots Guards Association in Manchester under the tutelage of Bob Lyle, who served as Pipe Major of the band for several years. After playing with the Scots Guards Association for two years, Steve co-founded the Wythenshawe Pipe Band, marking his entry into both band and solo competitions.

Following this, Steve joined The Phoenix Pipe Band, contributing for an impressive two decades. During his tenure, the band ascended from grade 4 to grade 2, even competing in grade 1, the highest level. Subsequently, Steve assumed the role of Pipe Sergeant with the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Pipe Band.

In 2006, he rejoined the Manchester Phoenix Pipe Band, serving as Pipe Sergeant and band secretary until 2019. Steve actively participates in solo piping contests, boasting several trophy wins. His services extend to the North West of England, North Wales, Cheshire, Staffordshire, and the West Midlands, as well as internationally.

Over the years, Steve has lent his skillful bagpiping to numerous events, including weddings, funerals, parties, Burns nights, New Year’s Eve celebrations, and various functions, even making appearances on television and radio. Most recently he performed at the Andre Reiu concert at Manchester Arena.
